Tuesdays with … March 23, 2015

Here’s your Tuesdays with…. update for those in need of a kidney transplant and their advocates. It is a short one this week. You could use the following information and email to family members, friends and post on your Facebook page and other social media outlets. You could also include additional information about your health, progress and other activities. If this is your first Tuesdays with… update, click here to learn how to use Tuesdays with… to expand on your Kidney Kampaign.

Spring has finally sprung. Spring is new season with new beginnings. Flowers start to come alive, and people come out of hibernation from a long winter. Spring is also the time to reconnect with friends and loved ones, and spring is the time to develop new relationships.

All day long I ponder how I can get the word out about my need for a kidney donor. I’ve told people my story. I have asked you to help share my story in hopes of a connection being made to find a donor. I post on Facebook and Twitter. I tell strangers I have never met before.

At times, asking for a kidney, or even sharing my story for that matter, can be very challenging for me. I always wonder am I bugging and/or imposing on someone. There are times when I meet new people, and they ask me to tell them about myself. Sometimes I do not feel comfortable nor can I find the courage to tell them I am seeking a kidney door.

That’s where you come in to play. I feel comfortable sharing my story and need with you. Your encouragement and support is much appreciated. If I could ask you for one more favor, it would be for you to help share my story. Maybe when you develop new relationships, you could tell them about me and share with them my quest to find a kidney donor.

Happy spring.

(You could also provide some info about your health, dialysis, your energy level, something you and your family are doing together or an experience you’ve had at the transplant hospital.)

I am very grateful for the continued support I’m receiving from family members and friends and will continue to keep you up to date on my progress.

Can you suggest another way to let others know about your need? Please share it with us by Clicking Here and we will include in in a future Tuesdays With... update.

If you know someone else in need of a kidney transplant or would like to pass this on to your doctor or a dialysis/transplant social worker please provide him or her with this link:

Until next week, we wish you the best in your journey.
