Tuesdays with … June 2, 2014

Here’s your Tuesdays with…. update for those in need of a kidney transplant and their advocates. You could use the following information and email to family members, friends and post on your Facebook page and other social media outlets. You could also include additional information about your health, progress and other activities. If this is your first Tuesdays with… update, click here to learn how to use Tuesdays with… to expand on your Kidney Kampaign.

This past week we lost an inspirational role model. Maya Angelou wrote poignant poems, and her quotes always make me stop and think about the impact they have on me.

One of her quotes goes like this, “If you find it in your heart to care for somebody else you will have succeeded.”

I know in my heart I care about all of you as you give me strength, love and words of kindness, encouragement and wisdom with each encounter we have. Life is about sharing and caring about what is in your heart. I know you have me in your heart as I continue my quest to find a kidney donor. You too will succeed in assisting me if you share my story, and more importantly you can help me find my donor.

(You could also provide some info about your health, dialysis, your energy level, something you and your family are doing together or an experience you’ve had at the transplant hospital.)

I am very grateful for the continued support I’m receiving from family members and friends and will continue to keep you up to date on my progress.

Additional Help for your Kidney Kampaign:
There are many news stories of recipients and donors meeting at their place of worship. Have you asked your religious leader if your story could be told in their newsletter, bulletin board or mentioned during a sermon? Here’s just one of the many stories written about someone in need meeting their donor at their place of worship.
