Tuesdays with … September 29, 2014

Here’s your Tuesdays with…. update for those in need of a kidney transplant and their advocates. It is a short one this week. You could use the following information and email to family members, friends and post on your Facebook page and other social media outlets. You could also include additional information about your health, progress and other activities. If this is your first Tuesdays with… update, click here to learn how to use Tuesdays with… to expand on your Kidney Kampaign.

I’m often asked, “What Could I Do to Help?”
You could help by putting flyers up that explain my need for a kidney transplant. Let me explain.
Recently I’ve started to put a flyer I developed on public bulletin boards. Many businesses, i.e. coffee shops, supermarkets etc. have bulleting boards. So do places of worship, public libraries, village halls and there could be one where you work.
I’ll email you the flyer that I developed. (If you can, attach a copy of the flyer to the email. You could also say that you will print and mail the flyers.)  I also have business cards that tell my story. I’m handing out the cards to people I meet after I tell them about my situation. If you are letting others know about me you could give them a business card. The card has my personal story (if you have the card you could attach a copy to your email,) and if someone wants to learn more about what it takes to be a living donor the card has the name of the donor coordinator at my transplant hospital. You could also put the cards on the bottom of the flyer with some double-sided scotch tape so someone reading the flyer could take one.
I would greatly appreciate your helping in this way.

You could get business cards printed at FedEx/Kinkos online or at their store. There are many online services that print inexpensive cards: Vista Print and Staples are just a few.

Can you suggest another way to let others know about your need? Please share it with us by Clicking Here and we will include in in a future Tuesdays With... update.

If you know someone else in need of a kidney transplant or would like to pass this on to your doctor or a dialysis/transplant social worker please provide him or her with this link:

Until next week, we wish you the best in your journey.
